On March 15th 2009, 15 Journalists and 12 Pirelli Testers set 7 FIM World Duration Records at Nard� Technical Center in Southern Italy. On just one set of Angel ST tyres they covered a distance of 5,135 km at an average speed of 214 km/h in a tough 24H non stop trial which proved the consistency and the performance of the new ANGEL ST..
RADIAL CARCASS CONSTRUCTION
The patented technology enables the structure of both front and rear tyre to be achieved using a radial carcass and a single layer belt made of steel. Depending on the rolling direction of the tyre, the belt is wound circumferentially around the carcass giving an angle
close to 0�.
The advantages of the use of steel are its extremely high rigidity and the possibility to tune the winding spacing thus differentiating the stiffness distribution from shoulder to crown.

It is the latest patented design technology developed by Pirelli derived from the experience in the World Superbike championship, which founds in the optimization of the contact patch the key of the performance, and focuses the entire tyre set design on this improvement.
