Bike Trac recovers 2 bikes in 2 days

After spending no more than five minutes in his local Sainsbury’s store in South West London, when Richard returned to his Triumph Tiger he found that it was missing.  At that very moment the Bike Trac Security Response Call Centre phoned Richard on his mobile to advise him that they had received an alert, and after confirming that his bike had been stolen, the call centre contacted the Police to initiate a recovery.

As Richard was making his way home in a Taxi with carrier bag in tow, the Police were chasing the thieves and managed to find the bike and apprehend the culprits at 9:40 pm the same evening.  After the Police gathered the necessary evidence, the bike was returned to Richard with no damage other than a tampered steering lock.  Without Bike Trac however, this story would have most likely ended with Richard never seeing his belovered Triumph again.  Richard commented: “I didn’t even have to lift a finger.  The whole situation was handled by the Police and I got my bike back in one piece. I couldn’t be happier”.

At 5pm the very next day, two thieves wheeled a 2010 Ducati 1198 from out the front of a dealership in Winchester, into their waiting van parked outside.  Whilst no one was immediately aware of the theft, as soon as the bike was taken outside of the pre-set security fence, an alert was sent to both the dealer and Security Response Call Centre. 

Within minutes the Police were notified and set about following the bikes movements, eventually ending in Nuneaton at 8pm the same evening.  The Police tracked the bike to a series of sheds on and industrial of the city, and by using the Radio Frequency (RF) signal transmitted by the Bike Trac unit, were able to pin-point exactly which shed it was being stored in. 

The culprits were arrested, and even though the bike had been completely stripped down, the Bike Trac unit continued to operate and transmit its location.  All the parts were subsequently recovered and the bike has been reassembled and returned to the owner.

The manager of the Ducati Dealership commented: “Bike Trac has single handily saved us a very expensive insurance claim.  As it was being stripped for parts, we never would have seen the bike again if it wasn’t for Bike Trac”.
